Media coverage of this event is so interesting. First every headline highlighted the location: a BIKER BAR, as if one expects a mass shooting at such places, as if the location explained things.
But now it turns out the gunman was an ex-cop, hunting his ex-wife. The story isn't the location, it's the toxic masculinity, it's the spouse/partner abuse.

This is a really important piece illustrating how the legal profession has changed since Watergate.
If the rule of law is to be the guardrail of constitutional democracy, we can't have competing norms and standards or partisanship muddying the waters. I'm watching Marsha Fudge on MSNBC and she's completely wrong about affordable housing. The problem is NOT the zoning! It's the greed! We barely have any zoning in Nashville, developers have been razing existing homes and building 2, 3 and 4 new homes on those lots FOR YEARS. We have substantially increased our housing stock. But developers are building $800,000-$1 million homes where $300K houses used to be!
Developers build to increase their PROFIT not a city's housing!
