For the first time ever I actually resorted to using an LLM (llama3.1, offline) to write a simple function for me, in lua (because I don't know lua). I have to admit it worked out nicely though I do feel a bit dirty now...

@npub1yuj…4axc @npub1hyk…3p33 That'd be a useful tool indeed. Speaking of Google, it still silently offers RSS on YouYube, I'm dreading the inevitable day it enshittifies so much that that is gone too. When that happens, such a tool would also come in handy.

Just got back from the local #tdose conference. I might have gone a bit overboard in preparing some #sxmo material to go in style. Fellow mobile linux project #ubports had a nice stand and #nlnet had lots of stickers to share, including a #postmarketos one.

My old e-reader had some problems and needed to be replaced. I ended up exploring the hell that is DRM (copy protection) on e-books and tried to break the restraints so I can read my own legally acquired books with FOSS software. There seems to be a bit of a hype going currently amongst bloggers where people post what their so-called "default apps" or mostly used applications are. I played a bit more with Numen (a cool voice control system, see https://numenvoice.org/). I can not only control my desktop, laptop, or linux mobile phone (#sxmo) with it, but also my house (lights, heating, media, etc) from all of these devices. Next I'll hook some mics to my raspberry pi's and control home automation from there.
All this on-device, no cloud connections, and definitely no "Hey Google", "Siri" or "Alexa"!

@npub1m26…2jhh I'm a tea drinker! In fact, uncharacteristic for most programmers I guess, I never drink coffee. My all time favourite tea is a Chinese green tea: 西湖龙井, or "Dragonwell" in English. I'm having it as we speak! :)

@npub1l3g…vu48 That's by design actually, it indeed simply reports the amount of time per tag. I always make sure to have some top level tag like @work which I can grab the total from.

Today I said goodbye to my last 'traditional social media', #reddit, as they made a definite turn for the dark side (=money grabbing, depriving users of features and locking them in, as @npub1hyk…3p33 would say: #enshitification). It was mainly a source of passive scrolling which I'm probably better to have gotten rid of anyway.
I'm giving the fediverse a chance and trying federated solutions like #lemmy. It would be nice if we could build up communities that can't be locked up by a platform..
