My son lost his PC for bad behaviour so I said he could play Minecraft if he could make it run on a pile of bits.
He was very motivated and got there in the end with a little bit of help.
I will turn him into a tech nerd eventually, he definitely has the inclination.

@nprofile…e6vs I have heard good things. Maybe at some point I’ll buy in. I’ve got my Garmin watch which gives me a bunch of metrics. The trouble is the app kind of sucks for workout planning and that kind of thing.

Internet friends. I am struggling to get back to a fitness routine I am happy with after a period of injury.
Does anyone know of apps that are good for planning out and reminding me to keep up with a fitness routine?
I’m keen to hear what works for others. My phone pinging me to do those press ups or get out the door for a morning jog could really help think.
I could use my phone’s reminders app for some of this but would rather have some for-purpose.

Fedinerds I find myself with an opportunity to have my pick of Linux compatible laptops for the new job I start in March.
My preference is for it to be small and light (probably 13”) for ease of travel. I don’t want a fancy GPU but I want to drive my 2560x1200 monitor at 120hz.
Basically I want an upgraded version of the M1 MacBook Air I had for my last job but with good Linux support (I respect Asahi Linux but I think I want x86 this time) and preferably less need to dongle up.
Oh and UK availability and keyboard…
What do I buy?

I’m monitoring the developments around the Online Safety Act in the UK.
As this instance is very much “linked to the UK”, if these initial assessments are accurate we will have to shut down running.cafe before March.
However I’m hoping an easier way to become compliant emerges before then. 🤞

I had an absolutely lovely #run this afternoon! I’m not sure if it was the perfect weather or the relatively low mileage week but the whole thing just felt effortless.
I ended up leaving at about 4pm and did 18km/11 miles of my favourite local countryside route and finished just as the sun was setting. 😁
