I am coming to the conclusion that the oligarchy think they can somehow survive the collapse of our society.
And, while their wealth may be enough to insulate them from the immediate consequences it will not be enough to save them from the tide of secondary effects.
And when it comes to collapse the people who are steering the vehicle seem to be determined to drive it off the cliff as fast as possible.
