It's rather the other way around. Israel is a construct of the UK and the US going all the way back to the take down of the Ottoman empire by riling up the tribal groups (Thomas Edward Lawrence), the Balfour declaration and subsequent UN proclamations and the facilitation of Jewish settlement in the region before and after these events.
Israel as a nation state is for all intents and purposes a proxy of Western political and financial aspirations in the NE/ME arena.
