So I spelunked into the directory tree of the Ubuntu repos and it seems like debs that alias to snaps have "snap" in their version, e.g.:
firefox_1snap1-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb
and the steam package from multiverse doesn't:
steam_1.0.0.45-1ubuntu1.2_i386.deb
But it's probably a better idea to use the deb that Valve provides directly. They have a [PPA](https://repo.steampowered.com/steam ) for it that you can add so you don't have to manually fiddle with deb files.

There's a lot to be said about the strengths and weaknesses of open source (and source available) software but to me it comes down to one simple thing:

On a related note: the plural of the word octopus. It's a Greek word so it can't be *"octopi,"* that would be applying Latin grammar.
Some suggest *"octopodes"* but my issue with that is it's just plural for a completely different word, *"octopod(e),"* which is a synonym for octopus. Similarly to how the plural of hexapod is hexapods.
So I'll just keep saying octopuses, I guess.

Octopus tentacles are a misconception that really grinds my gears. :blobfoxmelt: Octopuses have only arms, squids have arms and two tentacles.
Arms have suction cups along their entire length and are used as, well, arms. The two tentacles of a squid only have suction cups near their ends and are used in reproduction.

**systemd** really doesn't take away user choice any more than glibc, the GNU coreutils or the upstream kernel do. And I've tried alternatives to all of these but *chose* to go back to using them. They are standards and having standards is good. #Linux

Fast food shenanigansI don't know about other countries but about a year ago a lot of fast food restaurants had introduced a "takeaway fee" the equivalent of ~0.30€ here in Hungary, citing "increased additional costs" for takeaway purchases. So I thought, *well, if you really want to charge for that paper bag, that's fine.* I usually just order a single burger without the bag that I'd eat right away on my way.
But nowadays there's a kiosk for ordering and you can't exactly tell the machine that you don't want a tray *or* a bag. So I order in person and say it's takeaway but without the bag so don't add it to the order. The guy then says it's not the bag itself that the fee is for so if I ordered takeaway I'd still have to pay the fee.
But for what exactly I'm not sure, since I don't use up either a tray or a bag. I sigh, ask for my burger and say I'll "dine in" but don't need a tray, then pay, get my sandwich and walk out.
