With stop lights at virtually every intersection across the country, I have trouble believing ANY related parts would be harder to come by than the next day.

I appreciate the info but I'm now wondering just how bad that accident was! If we're talking nearly a week of repairs just for the stop light, how is that intersection not just a massive crater?

I was driving through our town Thursday and the stop lights at the main intersection were out. When I checked my email later at home, I saw there was one from the city saying a traffic accident had occurred that afternoon and the expected repairs would last well past rush hour. This morning, I saw another email saying it wouldn't be repaired until tomorrow at the earliest.

I had a vaguely similar idea using John Watson (from the Sherlock Holmes stories), an adult Alice Liddle (the IRL inspiration for Alice in Wonderland), John Henry (from American folklore), Joaquin Murrieta (the IRL Mexican inspiration for Zorro), and Sun Wukong (of Chinese legend).

I can't speak to how high you are, but I know it's not "Flippin L" -- it's "Flipping Hell." But since they frequently drop their H's, it sounds like flippin 'ell.

Most of my jobs since I was 12 required me to get up in the 4am-5am ballpark. I absolutely hate it and have never gotten used to being up that early, but I've done it for so many decades now that my body refuses to sleep in past 6am just out of habit. I'm usually up around 5am without an alarm. I still feel tired and groggy for hours after getting up, and I never feel "normal" until after 9am at the earliest.
