Honestly I connect with a few people on X but I’m also connected with them via another community…so it’s more of a mutual thing supporting one another’s content.
That being said, I struggle to grow on X (or spend time there) as everyone seems to be shilling their “expertise” and status of “guru-ness” and I don’t feel like authentic conversation happens.

Also, I always like to see the source of the data, meaning how did they structure it.
Pew is “reputable” (arguably LOL) therefore I presume they followed research best practices…

Trying to wrap my head around this.
I’ve seen several people recommend a WOT solution and now you indicating it’s best to build your own since I would be at the center.

What do you mean by “requiring the permission of others to use their client”
Which client are you referring to?

That aside, trusting a person (Elon in your example) vs trusting a client (I assume you something like Damus or Primal)
Those are completely different for a few reasons
A. One is a person, the other is a piece of software (albeit written by “people”)
B. Nostr is a protocol much like http or pop3…the clients are just the UI to make accessing the protocol more user friendly
C. You (ie anyone) can make a client for Nostr…so you not trust yourself?
D. Using the logic you’ve laid forth, Bitcoin also would not be considered sovereign because it requires nodes to be in operation to progress the chain of blocks …much like Nostr requires relays
(and yes I’m aware that someone has solved a block or hash or something like that on a piece of paper…that’s an Outlier scenario)

That’s really the thing with most investors…they say they are investors and like #investing but their behavior is that of a trader #trading
It all has to do with time preference and alignment of behaviors and this emotions.
Tell him to take a mental picture of how he feels on this down move. Ask him to rate his emotions…
Then when it goes up by the same amount…have him take another mental picture and rate his emotions on the up move…
It won’t feel the same (we bias sensualization on the way down but forget the euphoria on the way up)
If he learns to control that he will be better than 99% of people on earth 😇

As a family we are very much into strategy games.
They tend to be card based (but not deck builders).
Some of them like Skyjo are just fun and while there is the illusion of strategy, it’s just randomness. That is a nice palette cleanser type of game.
Then there are some trick taking card games like the ones from Grandpa Beck’s (Skull King, Cover Your Assets)
Sushi Go is another one we like.
We do play Ticket to Ride but we all know the optimal strategy for it so it just becomes a race to the finish…
That’s why I think we like Splendor so much…the goal is the same and the pathways are the same to reach the goal, but it’s very dynamic strategy wise so it’s constantly evolving during game play

As crazy as it sounds, I’ve actually seen a lot of investing and crypto related local gatherings on meetup app (website). Not sure if it is in your town but that might be a way to attract more people.
I was a part of everything from fish breeding clubs, to gun clubs, to board games, to business networking…I used meetup a lot when it first came about.

@npub1yzv…rf8q the only issue I'm running into is with getting a 3rd party lightning wallet connected. I have a Primal wallet lightning address which I'm happy with (for now) but I can't seem to find an NWC string to provide within YakiHonne app for the NWC connection.
I successfully connected an Alby wallet (which I'm not happy with) on website version of YakiHonne but iOS iphone nor iPad apps want to connect via Alby Connect (your app opens my browser but then it hangs on redirect.
And even though I had my Alby Wallet (again which I don't want to use) on the Web Version of YakiHonne, when I went to the iOS apps, the Alby wallet connection isn't there...so I'm in this doom loop of not having the same wallet info in all places to send and receive within YakiHonne.
Is this a known bug or am I doing something inaccurately?

I MAY have found the universal, ubiquitous Nostr app I’ve been looking for in @npub1yzv…rf8q

It’s a little too much to take in at first with all it “can do”. I’m struggling to wrap my brain around its features.
That aside, the key UX I wanted was a single app across desktop (web) and iOS (both iPad and iPhone). So I seem to have found that.
Only UX/UI item missing is when I’m on someone’s profile I want to be able to compose directly there and have the post tag the user. @npub18m7…q955 does this but I haven’t found any other mobile device app which does.
That’s really the only thing @npub12vk…pugg was missing too…plus the fact that Primal is custodial and I prefer self-custody.

Or via cashflow from investments (assets / tokens) we don’t care about…they are purely a means to an end.

Wealth, generational or otherwise, doesn’t eliminate bills; or more specifically the need to transact for stuff and things and experiences…
It makes it a non-issue to compensate for the value received.
But unless someone is 100% self-dependent for all aspects of their life (ie home steader perhaps even Amish) they will still need to transact with others.
Now…if someone were traditional Amish and 100% self-dependent, meaning they don’t need to pay for anything…they wouldn’t need #bitcoin either than…plus traditional Amish don’t use electricity so they definitely aren’t the target audience for #BTC.
Hence my original statement, “it depends”.
I applaud your absolutism, but societally speaking we aren’t “there yet”.
And agains, doesn’t mean I disagree with you. Simply that even the ultra wealthy buy products and services.
So unless they are 100% solar or some other renewable energy source…they still need some fiat “today” to transact.
But yes, in the ideal world, we would spend our Bitcoin not sell it.

In theory yes.
In practice, people still can’t pay for utilities with BTC (unless they use a 3rd party like Spritz Finance)
Can’t put gas in the car with sats (yet).
So until the tipping point; it has to be a both/and world.
Doesn’t me you and I can’t agree to only transact in sats…
But most of the world is driving cars that require inputs via fiat (whether that is to purchase it or operate it)

Most people aren’t patient enough to build let along steward wealth. In particular generational wealth.

Trade to create cash flow
Parlay cash flow into accumulating assets
Example of where I (and most) can improve patience in this domain…
When a trade or investment is going against you; be patient and let time and randomness do it’s thing for you!
PS have a trade plan and follow it, Stop Loss and Take Profit are your friends.
Right now my portfolio doesn’t look as green as I’d like. But the data does not suggest that I change my assumption. So I stick to the plan.

Are Coracle.social and Nostrudel.ninja web only or do they have mobile apps too?
I like the "Twitter / X feel" of Primal on desktop...but not in love with their mobile ios apps.
So trying to find either a "one stop shop" where I'm using the same app across devices + desktop (web)
Or an iOS app that is close to Primal desktop.
I started with Damus on mobile but there are Primal UI and thus UX aspects I prefer over Damus...mainly with the discovery/connecting to interest and "tribe" data provided, etc.
Damus you fly blind and guess a lot...Primal gives you a foundation to jump off of and fly from there...

Because Nostr is decentralized, it’s entirely possible, more like actually probable that if you and I are not running the same relays…
We wouldn’t know each other existed? Could see each other’s posts?
If that’s correct, then that is one benefit to a centralized solution a la X but we give up a lot of control when we go centralized

1. How does the username field come into use?
2. In a perfect world I’d like the Nostr address to be branded…such as with my domain name (seems I could do that but I don’t want to mess with setting up json files right now)
