@nprofile…r0kn Funny, because I just heard about a bigger local company that decided that everyone has to be in-office full time as of 9/1. I guess they need to justify all the money they just spent on their new HQ building.
Can't wait to see how many people jump ship.

@nprofile…r0kn I'm so disappointed with news from work today. They're working on the Win11 rollout, so I'll be subjected to that pretty soon.
I'm hoping they've got all the necessary GPOs to turn off nonsense, and I assume it's a pro version anyway, but still...

@nprofile…5k2y Plenty of people get popped by not patching or by exposing things to the Internet that shouldn't be.
Until those things stop happening, regular reminders are necessary.
It's also nice to have a regular place to see the monthly damage. Patching won't ever go away, so might as well stay aware of what's happening.

@nprofile…r0kn @nprofile…eywa The last Getting Defensive interview w/ Martin Fisher was great, and really hit home. We've had all the same conversations around biomed devices and how to protect them, and things have gotten even more interesting with our active merger going on. There's a lot of clashing policies (mostly about less critical topics) but it's interesting to watch people justify their stances.
Healthcare truly is a different world when it comes to IT and security.

@npub1nyq…vvvs I had a vendor give us instructions on how to deploy a product from a Github repo once. It was a Node.js app. I spent a day or two learning Docker so that I could put it in a container and not have it completely shit on our system.
And, of course, it was an old, out of date version of Node.js that was required.
