Ok, #RetroComputing fediverse … here’s a stumper for you.
Was there ever a printed version of the #MessagePad 2100 User Manual?
The PDF version of the 2100 manual is available all over the interwebs, but I’ve only ever seen a MessagePad 2000 User Manual (and the MessagePad 2100 “Getting Started” guide) in print form.
Does this thing even exist?
If it does exist, I’d love to find a copy for my #AppleNewton library.

Just replaced a handful mentions of Kbaud and Mbaud references in the Newton Glossary with Kbps and Mbps, respectively. Not sure how baud rates ended up in there in the first place.

Twenty three years ago today, I published the first public release of the Newton Glossary. Over time, it has grown to become an almost definitive guide to terms and trivia related to the #AppleNewton and related technologies. As of today’s release it contains 1,400 entries and over 150 sources.
It has been (and will continue to be) a labour of love for me.

Hey, Mastodon … I’m trying to track down an #AppleNewton developer named Stephen A. Cronin.
He worked at #AMD and operated a software company called TapTech based out of Austin, Texas in the late 90s. I’ve managed to contact his former software partner, Francis Preve … but Francis lost touch with Stephen years ago.
Together they released a sequencer program for #NewtonOS called NR404 and I’m hoping the source code still exists somewhere.

It’s a bit of a trek for me to get to anywhere industrial, which I love to photograph.
