I have been standing at the Scotibank counter for 10 minutes trying to send 8k USD to a vendor in the states VIA wire. it's times like this, when it is amazing things are switching faster.
Vendor charged $20 fee, Scotia will charge a fee as well. plus I had to drive here. This is insane.

Have you read the 4th turning? What I find interesting is the turning always coincides with:
1. Decline in society and standards of living.
2. The populas requesting more centralization.
3. The advent of a powerful new society changing technology.
4. War or an event like war, struggle and so on.
My theory on the positive side? Are we already living through our war, or a 2020's style great depression? We may expect a kinetic war on our soil, but maybe the warfare through centralized companies and governments and we have already been fighting this war since roughly 2008 - or earlier.
The technology that will change the world is BTC, and could be AI.
I think when people look back on this time, say in 2070, it will be obvious that this was in fact our version of a great depression, government oppression and massive regulation bogging down the social construct necessary for society growth.
Everyone knows what the negative theory could be, but I am optimistic because of Nostr, Bitcoin and the community that surrounds us. I think it was @harry_sudock that said we are living through the "good old times", this building phase is exciting.
Its the journey, not the destination.

it's weird, I'm always surprised by folks with a iPhone. it does the same thing as other smart phones, but traps you into an ecosystem for a higher price. I work at a job with 5 employees, only 1 has a iPhone and their average age is 27. I think people are starting to get it.

nostr.com does not explain how to get a NPUB. There is a portion that recommends using a client, but skips over the actual getting the NPUB part, and doesn't scrape getting a LNURL. Any tips? I got mine from getalby, but they are now invite only and frankly, I would rather have my own and not have it linked to a product.
