I was playing some old Atari cartridges, and the official Space Invaders really is that terrible.
Roklan looks exactly like Taito's. It's fine.
But then Compute!'s Invaders from Outer Space has a shooting penis vs UFO (which always kills you).
And Softside's Outer Space Attack is a flask against cute blobcats. I couldn't really lose that one.

No, the software maintenance kind. Just I screwed with other library files, and didn't update my test code to prove it still worked. So I copied that old test code and it *didn't* work.

I haven't looked at this graphics terminal code in a while, so of course it's bit-rotted and I have an impossible to debug
Exception in cadr: incorrect list structure #f
And the debugger stops at least one or two levels up from the function that really did this.
So now my code's full of (errprintln) like a primitive again.
Finally found an untested error path, added a test & message, changed a 128 to 256, and it's fine.
SIGH. Literally 2 cups of coffee and an hour of flailing.

I prefer the art of old videogames. It's not just screenshots of your guy, which is maybe an 8x8 sprite on a 20x20 grid. It's not some crappy 3D render. An artist sat down and thought about what the game represents, and painted it.

This is a hell of a good question. Why wasn't there ever a Skylark of Space movie‽ Shitty comic strip Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon got multiple series and movies. Why didn't the real good hard stuff get one? Likewise John Carter (lovely mess of a movie bomb aside).

STevie was the most amazing thing when it came out. A fast, low-memory vi on my ST! Replaced microemacs overnight.
I'm shocked it ever compiled/ran on anything else.
