- False. not all Diamonds hold their value nor are rare.
Q: And how does it work for those that do hold their value?
- Diamond has a finite supply and they are rare within that supply, becoming more and more rare day bay day.
see for e.g. this Old Mine Cut Diamond. It dates between the 1700s and 1800s, and is no longer manufactured. Every time one is recut into a modern cut (yes, it happens), there is one less available in the world.

Q: Are synthetics / lab grown a valid replacement. Aren't they the same thing?
- No. they are your Diamond version of printing money. Worthless and sold to you as a valuable alternative.
And altough they are sold as having the same physical and chemical properties of a natural one, a simple machine can separate them from naturals. And anyone can operante it. How can this be the same?
As a third generation in this industry we understand Value.
