Maybe you're thinking of something else? LibreOffice has been able to open and save in Microsoft's formats for many years. Millions of people use it to share documents with Microsoft Office users. So saying it's "not compatible" isn't true at all.

Hi! Regarding your second question – not sure what you mean. LibreOffice never prompts you to update to an unstable version. We currently maintain two stable branches, LibreOffice 24.2 and LibreOffice 7.6. The latter is coming to end-of-life soon, so we're encouraging users to move to the newer stable branch. But both are stable (they only receive bug and security fixes – no new features in the middle of a branch).

Can you provide more details please? What version of LibreOffice are you using to generate the PDF, and what does the "PAC" tool show as an error/problem? (We can check too, but will have to register, download and install that tool on a Windows machine – so the more info you can give right now, the better. Thanks 😉)
