Seeking wisdom from the Fediverse:
I am going to going visit my 94-yo over the imminently looming holiday season. I will also be visiting my sister, who is Mom’s live-in caregiver. At some point, we will all be watching tv, there will be nothing objectively better on (it’s basic cable w/o streaming); & Sis (who generally controls the remote) will turn on a Hallmark movie.

1) Lots of white people remain unaware of the things that should be enraging them (& educating them is a thing much harder just telling them the facts).
2) Many/most white people stumble at the hurdle of white guilt; & never get to the tage beyond.
3) This white person, at least can’t sustain rage very well. I slip off the heights of rage into depressed denialism or depressed resignation. I realize that rage is a lot less optional for POC, & I don’t know…

Crochet is all about numbers & geometry, too; & Ada Lovelace’s First Computer Ever was for weaving complex jacquards.

Or a blaze from someone who wanted to mark the trail really, *really* well?
My best real guess is that it was somehow intended as decor: I’ve seen a lot of sawblade-based decor in the foresty parts of Oregon. Why someone would decorate a tree out in the middle of the woods idk, although there are those traces nearby of a house or picnic area or something.

But I think there’s also a “horseshoe effect” convergence:
The appeal of (putatively) Christian evangelicals is the supposition that everyone else is inferior to them.
The appeal of Trump & his ilk is their power to get away with riding roughshod over laws, societal standards, etc.- creating a pretense that they are superior to everyone else.
It boils down to the same grift.

The influx of hot water makes the fish dive into the relatively cool bean curd, which the diner then eats while enjoying the delicate sensations of the fishes’ death throes.

It happens all the f*cking time.
Some states & municipalities have laws about keeping guns safely stored; but in lots of places it’s perfectly legal to leave your loaded gun just sitting on out a coffee table or somewhere.
Sometimes I hate it here.

It’s been a while since I did much gardening, & I’ve never been good at seed starting; but I think I’ve finally figured out what’s going on here: one of those seedlings is not basil. (Yeah, it took me this long. 😏🤣)
I could swear I only planted basil seeds (& one cell of thyme), but that one seedling seems to think it’s a cosmos or something. (I was planting cosmos in another tray at the same time.)
