When I see more and more people coming to the truth about Jan. 6, using the accurate terminology to describe it and Trumps role; understanding the stakes, understanding in a real way that it was an attempted coup.... it makes me feel like the last three years of my life were not wasted and we have a fighting chance to beat back fascism. I am very proud of the work I did there. It was 100% my own making. But for the record, I had no guidance, no real or meaningful editorial input. I worked my ass off because I believed in it, not because anyone expected it from me. I could have done the least and I dont think anyone would have cared. So long as I got clicks, rage bait was fine. Forgive me but making people angry through cherry picked content as the sole means to fundraise is not exactly activism.

I think what hurts the most about Daily Kos laying me off was not the fact that management didn't even bother talking to me to do it, it's that they sold me a bill of goods when they hired me that they clearly had no intention of following through on. I gave up other opportunities to work for them because I believed in the mission. And after using me and exploiting me, they laid me off after taking everything they could.
