There is a relatively-recent option under “Settings -> Safari” to have it auto-close tabs that have been inactive for a certain amount of time — make sure that hasn’t been toggled on by accident

Today I visited American Science and Surplus, which can best be described as “neurodivergence as a shop”. They sell stuff ranging from chemistry glassware to electronics odds and ends, camping gear to novelty toys. You need ball bearings? Vintage analogue meters? Gaffer’s tape? They got it.

The thing is, it IS possible to find that middle ground and manage things… to an extent. You’ll probably never be as “put together”as a neurotypical person, and it will be much harder for you than for them, and they very well might not understand why. But you can get by, and some people manage to thrive despite the difficulty.
I know it feels so hard. I know you just want to sleep, or hide. But don’t give up. You’re worth it. #adhd #neurodivergent #neurodiversity

It is astonishing how quickly stuff can pile up: junk, dishes, laundry, trash… debt… as people with ADHD we are told not to sweat the small stuff, but if we do that we forget about the small stuff, and then it becomes big stuff. And if we *do* focus on the small stuff, it’s easy for it to feel overwhelming and never-ending and anxiety-inducing, making us paranoid and miserable.
Finding a middle ground is so, so hard to do.

We thought it was trite at the time, Win95 using “My Computer”, “My Documents”, “My Pictures”, etc. It was too cutesy, us nerds said.
But look at it now. “This PC”, “Documents”, “Photos”. No possessive pronouns anywhere. Almost as if Microsoft wants us to forget anything has ever been “ours”. When did that happen? Vista? Win7? I forget.
It’s a stupid little thing… and yet it’s troubling.

There are times I wish we could just start over with computers and the internet. Just reset to about 1987 or so, and try again from there. Back then computers sucked, but they sucked in a hopeful, “things are getting better all the time” sort of way — whereas now they suck in a “financialize, monetize, advertise, AI lies, software spies” sort of way.
We have more power than ever, and yet we have less power than ever. And the first warning was when “My Computer” became “This PC” in Windows.
