The main flaw to me in a question like Who are you going to vote for? is that we're still 430 days out from an election and don't yet know who all our local riding candidates will be so we can't estimate who will be the best ABC choice. So a graph like this looks much more definite than it is.

There's some evidence that people don't become more conservative with age but with an increase in their wealth.
Now that many of us are decidedly not becoming wealthier with age, that trend is apparently reversing.
There are also numerous studies that show while boomers may have become more conservative with age, succeeding generations have not.
Young college/uni-educated urban GenZ/millennial women for instance remain the most progressive as they age.

I lean too heavily on this single point but I recall Leger once saying political polling makes up 1% of their revenue. I'm sure it's higher now but will never approach the revenue pollsters get from industry, lobbyists, NGOs.

I have been on a number of different polling "panels" over the years - not at the same time - bc it concerns me that
1)most are owned by conservative image management firms,
2)there's been a marked rise in their popularity as some kind of credible analysis so they're now shaping the news, and
3)online nonprobability polling is now the new industry standard.

It was almost exactly one year ago that "the Toronto Star and its polling partner Abacus Data launched a project to examine how Canadians would react to [Poilievre's] campaign."
I guess they're finding out how well their joint "project" is going if the CPC has indeed dropped 9 points in that time.

Anecdata on real life vs internet life : I have had a succession of full-on redneck rw neighbours in my rural nabe - 4" x 8' Max Bernier billboards nailed to their fence, RebelNews radio blaring on their radios, etc, etc.
They have all been great neighbours - in emergencies, in getting together to provide help for someone or to provide restitution to right local wrongs. Every single one of them.

Gotta love it that after getting thoroughly roasted in 2 small local newspapers in Ontario recently - Sudburydotcom and Niagara Now - Poilievre is now doubting the point of having Local Journalism Initiative-supported local papers at all, as he prefers the free market & "sponsorships". 🤣

I'm still on twitter. A Twitter subset of us who follow each other and don't generally see much of the whole firehose have been fact-checking across numerous platforms for 20 years and then leaning on media to follow these up. This is less and less successful now.

There are over 700 replies to Poilievre's post and the majority of them are just like the examples I posted and a day later they're all still up there.
I'm actually shocked he would leave this up.

These are not bots.
These are the comments of people with tens of thousands and in some cases hundreds of thousands of followers.

The first local news story re Poilievre was Jenny Lamothe at Sudbury.com and the second was an editorial by editor Richard Harley of Niagara News - and they belong to different news consortiums I believe.
Gotta love it tho that Niagara Now also has a story up of Poilievre saying he doubts the point of even having local papers at all. 🤣
Apparently he prefers free market & newspaper "sponsorships" 🤣
