I think you are mostly right, traditional advertising hasn’t really been all that successful yet and I’m not really gung ho about them either, but at the same time I see my much larger and more established competitors doing it, so why can’t I? But it is quite obvious it is toxic.
I need to find more places to share knowledge about what I know. I really am looking more for beta testers and pilot projects than real customers at this point.

Outperforming bitcoin is always the goal.
Also my goal is to own my own business which gives me more sovereignty over my life.
LightningSpore isn't exactly a bitcoin company... we sell lots of commodity products related to mushroom cultivation, grain bags, substrate, liquid culture.
Lots of people in the world grow mushrooms and buy this kind of stuff, therefore ads do work. I think I can compete in this market and do it better and cheaper.
I do a lot of bitcoin focused stuff, run our lightning node. Im trying to run a very approachable business to anyone, which also has a first-class experience for bitcoiners.
I want to run a profitable boring business (mushroom cultivation + supplies), and make good money and therefore good satoshis with it in the long term.

Thats a big part of what I am focused on. Creating a relatively automated mushroom grow room based on open technologies.
But it is not perfect for everyone either, I have to be sort of opinionated, and it isnt for everyone, and every scale. At least not yet.
Im mostly interested in getting people to try and use my software (and hardware combo), and get me feedback, I would choose to make very little money on hardware for more feedback.

Been playing around with FB ads because unfortunately I cannot shitpost on here and sell products reliably.
Been doing $5 a day just to make it real. Haven’t seen much results but it is still a learning process, my product is quite ready for prime time either so it is understandable.
But when I put that advertising budget into sats, that is 6100 sats per day off into the wind.
I probably won’t cancel the ad, I gotta figure out traditional ads at some point, but consider just zapping people 6,100 sats per day here and seeing if it works any better.
I already zap most posts I enjoy and my default zap is 69 satoshis.

I need to look into both of those options. In my situation there isn’t a big heat source in the tent like a grow light.
Being able to control it to a specific temp is definitely a big plus.
Maybe I just need to scale up more and the bigger units would seem more worthwhile than just my 3x3 foot tent. 🍄😅

The bar tab meme was wrong from the start. Bar tab implies each channel is only good for one payment destination.
It’s also not really pre-paid at all. Me opening a 10M sat channel costs me a chain fee and nothing more.

Utxo management might suck a bit but in general the concept is really cool.
Our wallets should be called coin purses. We have a bunch of little coins that we melt together in order to make a transaction. Sometimes we make an extra little coin to give back to us for change.

That is cool, let me know how it goes hooking sensors to it.
I previously played with a LoRa co2 sensor from seeedstudio, which afaict required the use of a proprietary base station software called “The Things Network”.
In my limited testing I could go across my hilly neighborhood and it worked and I was impressed, but the software stack felt difficult to do anything with. I hope meshtastic is better.

Started playing around with `uv` today. It is a Python `pip` alternative thing which is written in Rust, and is super fast. Currently, I use `poetry` for most of my python package management/version locking, but maybe `uv` can replace it.
So far so good I guess.
Python is the bees knees BTW, I love it. It is always very entertaining to me when I hear really smart people claim that Python sucks and they can't install a package, and then they go do something stupid and break their computer.
Maybe Im in an abusive relationship with my programming language? I could be better, but its definitely not unusable.

I use primal mobile a lot for consuming nostr. I hop into Damus from time to time to see if it is faster.
I only usually post on desktop because I have to post my images onto nostr.build and then use the embed links. Posting images raw using primal doesn’t work 50% of the time. I have to continually select the same photo a few times before it’ll ever stick on mobile.
I can only zap on mobile because of primal embedded wallet. I have Alby setup on desktop and it works great for login but zaps almost never work.

Im currently playing around with Obsidian a bit, but I am still trying to figure out the best way to share with a team?
I can just save the files into iCloud for my personal stuff, and be able to access it on my computer and phone. But for a team, I am not sure?
Git integration? Dropbox filesystem? Use something else besides obsidian? Owncloud?

The last time I grew out Pearl Oyster, my fruiting tent wasn't operational, so it was grown in the dry Colorado air out in the open, and didn't really look at that great.

I would like to think I am working on a new hardware platform. I have been scanning the landscape of microcontrollers/embedded Linux devices for a number of years before discovering this particular device:
Luckfox Pico Pro Max
Benefits:
Runs Linux -> porting seedsigner code is significantly easier than a true microcontroller. No micropython needed.
No onboard WiFi -> for whatever reason all alternative embedded Linux boards all include WiFi. This was a really difficult obstacle actually.
Ample memory -> can run Pillow, etc. the code is 99.1% the same!
Camera header -> similarly to the Rpi this board has a CSI camera header
Not a raspberry pi -> an answer to the loudest FUD
Not a microcontroller -> while I support enabling new hardware platforms, I think seedsigner is best if we coalesce around “Linux”. The effort needed to port to micropython is unnecessary. There already exists Krux. Play to our strengths.

Oyster harvest today! It ain't much but it is honest work. After I bagged this up I went around the neighborhood and gave them away.
Just like with giving away tomatoes, half the people I gave them away to offered to give me back some processed mushrooms in return! I hope I actually get some indian mushroom curry!

How do you add files to your creator page? I've added a couple but I am trying to add more and I cannot figure how I did it previously. I have a few pictures that I have already uploaded for usage in random nostr posts that I would like to be on my creator page. It seems like it would be a good UX improvement to have a button to "promote" the image to creator page.
Im sure how to do this is obvious and I am just missing something.

We grew some heirloom tomatoes in our garden this year, which is something we don’t normally eat a lot of, so we decided to make sauce.

Yes I really need this for next time! What sort of sucks about the trades is that negotiation and shopping around for pricing is difficult, as each one feels obligated to make a trip to your place to give a quote.
There needs to be a service which can inspect a job and then get valid quotes from multiple companies.

Just tried to open a channel with C=.
Wonky stuff happened in channel opening flow, they keep disconnecting, but the channel was still funded and broadcasted.
However the channel is STATIC_REMOTE_KEY, which sucks. It is 2024, anchor channels have been around for a long time at this point.
Future channels:
`lncli openchannel --channel_type anchors`
LND might force close more often (at least that was the vibe) but at least anchor channels dont make the process unbearable in high/variable fee environments.
