the part I find interesting is the deindustrialization aspect. Never in the history of humanity has there been an empire that's so utterly dependent economically on its adversaries.
US simply lacks the industrial capacity to fight a war with China right now. That doesn't mean US leadership won't try to start one of course, but once they do I really can't see how they go about pursuing it.

I'm absolutely bewildered by the fact that any time there's a criticism of Signal, you have people coming out of the woodwork trying to justify why what Signal is doing is somehow not a problem when it very obvious is. It's like a cult.

I repeat the point once again, this is no excuse for Signal to have poor security. Signal being a **security** focused application should strive to be secure.
The fact that Linux desktop could have a better security in no way justifies Signal doing what it's doing you get that right?

that's all besides the point which is the apparent attitude of the team working on the app, I simply have no confidence in people who are purporting to work on a security based product while taking such a cavalier approach to security.

storing sensitive data in plain text is in fact incredibly lax, how secure Linux desktops are is an entirely different question, and is certainly not a justification
