My post-stroke missus is having a bad day, and is napping on the couch. On a normal fall Sunday I'd be in front of the TV, going back and forth between sportsball games, and racing too. Instead, I'm in the yard repairing the dry stack stone borders in the garden. The exercise and the lack of screen time is doing me nothing but good.

I woke up early this morning, took out the trash, did a poo patrol in the yard, and then I got my foot caught in the soaker house I was attempting to unravel from our hedges. That's the second time this year I've gone down. Hard. Heat pad, then an ice pack, and some Tylenol. It's amazing how less resilient our bodies become as we age.

Puppy Update: It appears young Beaufort should make it; the saving grace seems to have been his stomach full of breakfast which soaked up the meds. And getting to the vet's super fast didn't hurt either. Now to learn from this lesson and never let the little fukker out of my sight again.

I just had to rush my puppy to the vet's office. He mnaged to get into the wife's morning doses of medicine, including metoprolol, and digoxin. They induced vomitting, and called the ASPCA poison control centre to determine how much danger he's in. They think he'll be alright, but are going to keep him there for a few hours and monitor his vitals and such. Stoopid fucking Labrador, I turned around for one second, to put the apple sauce away and he was licking the bowlful of meds clean. FML.

Thank God Molly's heat cycle has finally ended, and we were on the trails today for the first time in a month. Now to get her sewn up next month as we're done with puppies.
