How times change.
Used to be if you wanted to search for how to do a thing in just JS you couldn't find anything because all results were jQuery.
Then it was because all results are React.
Now it's made-up code generated by an AI, powered by tossing a childs-weight of CO2 into the atmosphere - that also doesn't work.
Truly, the progress we make is astounding.

I use OSX and have, exclusively, for over a decade.
I run iPhones and have, exclusively, since the 3G.
And yet I also find "Native" apps are a black mark and I always prefer platform agnostic apps.
I don't *prefer* Apple design sensibilities. I think a lot of them, frankly, are shit and getting shitter.
I *loath* the lock-in, always have, and do so more and more as I find Apple more and more repulsive as a company. Despite loving their hardware.
Just an observation.

Do Americans realise how absolutely insane the very concept of “purging a voter registration list” is? You have to *register to vote*? What are you even talking about?
Are you a citizen? Then you should automatically get a vote. There isn’t anything to administer. You live there. The government serves you; not you it. Voting isn’t supposed to be a privilege, or reward.
The obvious abuse vector that any system other than “all citizens vote” becomes is astounding.

There are _no good use cases_ for AI summarisation if you care about having a correct summary.
It can't be trusted to summarise correctly because a fundamental property of LLMs is _they do not understand anything_. They just parrot likely next words, but that "likely" is not based only on the content it's "summarising".
I have _no_ interest in any of this tech in my OS, or apps. It's a trojan horse for lies, built on theft, training us to trust and not think.

AI scraping is not fair use. Regardless of whether it spits out content verbatim. Fair use is aimed at legitamising *singular instances*. An article. A report. A video.
AI uses your work in perpetuity. It can profit off it forever. It’s part of the model. A model that would have *no value* without its training material.
That’s not fair use.

Here are the top three things to teach everyone (including yourself).
1. Empathy.
2. The scientific method of thinking.
3. Knowing when you’re not qualified to have an opinion, and who is.
Those, in that order, before any other topic.
1. Will guide everyone to positive action and avoid dehumanising behaviour.
2. Will guide you *how to learn* and how to identify bad conclusions. It will help you understand the world and avoid being made a dupe.
3. Will stop your ignorance from hurting others.
