This shot is one of the best in the movie. Love the the way I got the camera's movement curves as it pulls it from the road to the alleyway to show the initial collision with the road-blocker, it's flying through the air, the explosion as it lands and then the car catching up and the camera passing through the windscreen. That cop leaning out of the car there at the end too.
Why the road-barrier would cause the cop-car to explode even though it didn't cause the sports-car to explode when it hit it was a question bought up by a test-viewer. Um.
It's like in Mario or Joust maybe. Attacks from above are fatal.

The moment when Anxi appears on the car's holographic communications. Aelon's bare arse waving around in her face as the first thing she sees,
Suspect most people don't notice her double take and surprise reaction, but I enjoyed animating it anyway. Since I'm acting the parts I too got the see the alien's naked arse waving around in my face.

The first explosion!
Test-viewers correctly pointed out that the early-stage explosion, while it looked nicely firey, didn't really cast light around the scene and there were no jibbs flying off at that point. Thanks for the test-viewers for pointing out the best ways to improve things.
I doubt most viewers notice the little alien character cowering and avoiding the cars suddenly swerving off-road towards him. He's more visible in the 360 view but then you gotta be looking right at him.

In the flat-screen version of this scene it's easy enough to just pull the focus into a tight field of view so it's zoomed into the cop-cars with the alien pointing in the foreground, then cut to the closeup here.
I experimented with a 360/VR zoom of sorts. It sort of worked okay if you happened to be looking at Aelon as he pointed to the cars. You naturally turn to look where he's pointing and as you do so the whole camera moves up the road a 100 meters wooshing you to where the cops are approaching.
If if you were looking anywhere else at all it was just a jarring inexplicable sudden jolt, so I had to lose it.
360/VR movies are different to flat-screen movies. The flat-screen is all about what is framed, but in 360 there is no frame.
