@nprofile…2r82 @nprofile…lhul It breaks expectations a bit but I see the value. Swift has initializers that can throw and/or return nil.
In Ruby this could be a good use of Decrees. BuildValue.(wrapped) => nil | wrapped if a value | new value wrapping wrapped.

I'm trying to parse a single yaml doc in what YAML technically considers a multi-doc file but which really isn't. I need to get the rest of the document unparsed as a String (or an Reader, or a slice, or whatever).

But I’m not sure how to treat the first element differently. I have a .next() version that prints the frontmatter correctly but then chokes on the Markdown.

@nprofile…83zn YAML defines --- as a document separator so as far as most parsers are concerned whatever you chuck in frontmatter is the first document and the rest is one or more probably very invalid documents.
I just want to take the first and get the remainder back as a string.

Playing around with an idea to sync Markdown+Frontmatter with a SQLite database. In #Rust’s serde_yaml is it possible to parse the first document then get the second “document” as a string?

Articles on Hearthside are written in #Markdown (#GitHub-flavored), but the file extension is .md.yaml as they also make use of Jekyll-style front matter. My #Frontmatter gem requires that files it handles end in .yaml or .yml, so this is necessary.
