My question is more like: there are some apps that rely on the tray bar, by doing things like "closing to tray" (and then don't reopen, if you call the binary again) or exposing some functions only via tray icon menu. How do you work-around those, if you don't have such a tray icon bar?
Looks like, you're in the lucky situation where you don't have to use such apps.

@nprofile…ukgt right now I'm using waybar, which has some beta-support for this.
Volume is one example, Bluetooth, networkmanager, redshift and nextcloud client are others.

@nprofile…ukgt nah, by train icons I mean these fancy little widgets in the status bar that could be created by applications and that have their own Context menu

@nprofile…ukgt do you have something for tray icons? I don't really use them, but some apps assume they are there.
