Talked with someone who was at a pro-palestine demo, got to talking about police reform. I shared my thoughts on how it might be possible to change how policing is done to make it effective at actually helping people.
They responded "what about police departments that are beyond reform?"
"States would need to call in the national guard, fire all the cops, and hope their National Guard is better at riot control than the cops are at rioting. Until they can rebuild the police dept"

I have news to report from the campaign trail.
This will be absolutely no surprise to anyone, but I will report it anyway.
After canvassing for the field office in the majority-white part of town and having a fucking miserable time of it, I decided to go to the East Vegas field office, a much poorer part of town, majority hispanic, and I found it to be competently organized by people capable of taking criticism.
The problem with the other office isn't the Harris campaign.
It's white people!

What if we approach problems from a perspective of needs vs ability, instead of trying to shoehorn market theory into every aspect of human interaction?

At a guess, if you sanded after the inlay, particles from the wire became embedded in the wood around the wire, leading to the wood having different properties there, with the metal particles rejecting the stain.

You're trying to arrange the numbers into pi, ensuring the edges of adjacent blocks line up. You already know what the digits of pi are, and the blocks fit together in a limited number of ways.
You enlist a bunch of friends to place the blocks on a number line to make the digits of pi.

The important point is whether or not we do.
I think that it's important to analyze the motivations of people who seek to cut off fedi connections. I've seen a lot of drama within the past year that's rooted in self-interested actors seeking to manipulate the network.
I think a good question for network operators to ask themselves when confronted with loud voices demanding action is "what am I afraid they'll do if I don't do what they want?"

Yeah. I record my day-to-day in a notecard sized journal, it's got 200 pages.
It's an exercise in mindfulness and intentionality.
It's an intentional choice to write down my days, to remember them.
Tech is no substitute for discipline and mindfulness.

Have you ever used allergen-specialized bag vacuums that use HEPA rated vacuum bags?
Bagless vacuums (including robotic vacs) are inevitably leaky.
Bagged vacuums can be much better, especially for sensitive allergies.
My collective got a miele bagged canister vacuum and it worked outstandingly.
One way to get your robot vac to avoid triggering allergies would be to set it on a schedule to run when you're not home, alongside an air purifier.
