I hate to say it but #wsl is actually making using Windows possible for me.
For instance:
- my terminal works how I expect it to
- I can handle an NTFS filesystem with a Linux format (/ not \)
- I can install and run all my development stuff without any hassle.
I'd still rather use native Linux, but in cases where Windows is my only option, I think I could actually use it quite comfortably.
Although WSL isn't perfect and I would like to see more distros properly supported by it.

Got very excited when I saw @npub1zw2…2aln had launched Proton wallet. Got a bit less excited when I saw it was just bitcoin.
If the wallet could start supporting some other (ideally fiat) currencies, and potentially become a replacement for Google Wallet, then that would be a good reason to be excited.

I've not had the best day today, but I definitely have my faith in humanity.
I got stuck at the side of the road due to some engine problems, and within 20 minutes two people had stopped to check if we were okay. The first one just checked if we needed water or food and if we had help coming - which was very kind.
The second guy to stop actually fixed the engine (albeit temporarily it did get us home).
The recovery team were going to take 6 hours to arrive.
People are amazing.

Proton have got me in a weird spot currently. Because I joined Pass Plus early on, I've got a $1/mo lifetime plan there. However, if I wanted to upgrade to Proton Unlimited, it would (I believe) remove my entitlement to my $1/mo Pass Plus subscription should I ever decide to downgrade from Proton Unlimited. This is a key reason why I have yet to buy unlimited.

So there's a @npub1wjw…ue5t drive app for Windows now, and one in the works for MacOS, but are they ever going to release a Linux one?
There isn't really any chance of me using it without a Linux client, but if they did drop one then I'd definitely see how it compared to the (admittedly shaky) Nextcloud app.

Interested in getting a plan where each family member can have a mailbox hosted on Proton, but don't need any of the other features.

It will probably take me a while to learn the ropes and get a feel for where I'm most effective so I might move around and try a few more teams out to see how I get on there.

Is there a general consensus on where everyone is going to go when #reddit blocks third-party apps? If they go ahead with it, I'm not staying on Reddit - that's for sure.
- Users make the content
- Users moderate the content
- Reddit hosts the content
- Reddit shoves ads into it
- Users make better apps than Reddit
Honestly when you look at it, why don't we just stop giving some corporation all our content and making them rich? Move to the #fediverse?

@npub1xj5…2wwr Battle.net isn't non functional by any means, but I prefer to at least use a launcher with native Linux support, just my opinion really.
I am fine if the game itself isn't native, but if the launcher shipped an update that broke my access to a whole bunch of games because of some #wine issue then I wouldn't be too happy.

If so, the only place I'm aware that they're distributing currently is on Mullvad.net/download - which isn't ideal as a sole choice. It might show up/already be in some repos though. Its still very new though so I wouldn't be surprised.

And if you do, how do you think it would stack up against vanilla Firefox in terms of overall security (incl patches)?
