The thing with disordered sleep is, it's a hard cycle to get out of not because I can't sleep necessarily, but because if I can't sleep for a couple of nights, I wind up sleeping a lot of the day, and I don't get to do much during the day. When it's nighttime my day's been stupidly short and I don't want to go to bed, so I stay up late and then find the night is half over, and so it continues.

This was a great Christmas Eve, the way I feel Christmas Eve should be! Mom had to work, but it was only a half day. Then the 3 of us went out to run some last-minute errands, then came back, relaxed for a bit, had fish for dinner, though only 3 kinds this year. Watched Jeopardy! and It's a Wonderful Life, put the presents under the tree, and had just a little nip of hard eggnog. Such a cozy day!

I'm actually looking forward to Christmas more than I have in several years. Not quite sure why. Maybe because, though technically it's my second Christmas since my transplant, it's the first where I'm really feeling like myself again. Last year I said here that decorating the tree was the last thing I wanted to do, and this year I was back to loving it! That was the first sign of change.

Alright, I'm gonna go ahead and do this without the poll, lol. Which fraggle do you think you relate the most to? Gobo, Wembley, Red, Mokey or Boober? I like to think of myself as mostly Mokey: quiet, spiritual, a bit poetic, more than a bit dramatic, and I used to be the type that would bend over backwards to help someone and it would get thrown in my face more often than not. Oh, and I love to sing. All the fraggles do, but Mokey is especially known for her beautiful voice.

There's a line, and I'm not sure how fine it even is, between explaining your feelings on something and why it might be bad, and outright telling people not to use it. The point is, stop telling people they're awful just for using a service! There's a long list of them.

Mom keeps wanting me to rejoin Facebook. There is at least one solid advantage to this kind of social media over forums. When someone responds to you, you get a notification and can see it in one place. I remember I used to go through this routine every morning of checking the top posts in every subforum every morning, or the top few posts on extra busy days, to see if anyone had responded to questions I'd asked or comments I'd made, if anyone had made a move after me in games, Etc.

This rule, boundary, whatever, keeps being violated, and honestly I don't know what to do about it. That's the reason I got so upset. It's not that anyone treats me badly on the surface, it's just that I often feel quite disrespected, or like I'm being squeezed out of my own home. My room has my TV, which I've always had, and snacks and a small fridge which we bought when I was on dialysis and couldn't walk very far at night. Afterwards we kept it because, why not?

Something else I miss about old forums that I didn't even really think of until now. Sure, you could go on to one and be as specific as you wanted, but you could also just make a very broad topic titled, for example, "dreams," and just say "okay, let's talk about dreams," and people would share every and any thoughts on that topic, and that topic could be active for days or years!
