Question to #writing , #literature and #books people of Mastodon:
Is there a name of "worldbuilding through the tensions and conflicts in the story"?
In a recent #solarpunk discussion I suggested that the best way to deal with "unimaginable" better futures is to populate them with realistic, human conflicts. The "better future" could be painted by the nature of the conflicts - and the possible [acceptable] solution spaces, for example ruling out violence or hierarchy.
Does this have a name?

@npub1jlj…skl3 Solarpunk books which mentioned economies (even if not fully fleshed out) that I know:
- LX Beckett's Gamechanger and its sequel, Dealbreaker (the latter is more sci-fi) - several different currencies "multiplying" each other values, carbon-based pricing (flights more expensive than human labor etc)
- Ruthanna Emrys' "A Half-Built Garden" - mostly negotiations and civilizational specializations between high-tech capitalists and sustainable anarchists

Once again I'm pinged in the #mastodon dev thread about grouping notifications of the same type, which started back 6 years ago: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/1483 .
There were several attempts at implementing it, all shot down by maintainers.

Recently a friend pointed out that there is no #solarpunk #cityPlanning #game , as in: one which wouldn't give you urban areas to rewild ( #TerraNil ) or a build from scratch, but an existing, flawed human city which would need to be redesigned and reorganized for #sustainability and #climatechange .
I understand how hard it would be to create such #games , but I think it would be very inspirational, especially with multiple realistic scenarios.
Or are we wrong, do they already exist?
