Maybe that's the norm where you are, but it's not the norm everywhere. Everyone's pretty much always carried a gun everywhere I've lived.

My dad was in Vietnam, granddad was in WWII. And all our family friends growing up were in one or the other.
Virtually everyone I've ever known carries a gun, and the vast majority have been against, if not every single war, every recent one.
To be fair many have considered themselves traditionally liberal. But they've still generally voted republican just so they can keep their guns and ancient trucks.

I have no idea, I just know that all USB C phones I've ever used will, after about a year, only charge with the cable plugged in one way, and not the other. And if plugged in the wrong way, will intentionally _discharge_ faster. Because android is mind numbing garbage surpassed only by the garbitute of USB C

My family doesn't own any 4K bluray, or even a player, but we do have a standard bluray player, which kinda still works sometimes, but we only have a single bluray (Cloud Atlas. Go watch it, right now). Of course, a DVD version would be nice, because then we could watch in on our other players/computers, and wouldn't have to wait through the five years of bluray loading screens ;)

Quick electrical question:
(I'm in the u.s. BTW, with our super weird power)
So I was wiring up a 240v split phase three prong 30 Amp dryer socket. The socket has exposed metal casing, which I grounded. (I had four wire running to it; hot neutral hot ground, the socket only uses hot neutral hot, so I wired the ground to the metal case).
However, the instructions seem to suggest _don't_ ground _anything_.
This seems, fucking insane?

Because USB is the single worst interface ever cruelly devized by the evilest/dumbest of all man kind? Because USB is like if Adobe, Microsoft, Crowdstrike, and Google all teamed up to make a hardware standard? Because USB is what you'd get if you got an entire standards body of people who think bit-banging is just _too_ good of a solution?

I'd prefer to use fully FOSS drivers, but it's not the hugest deal to me if there's proprietary firmware or anything like that.
But I will say that nVidia's drivers are _SO_ bad that I literally gave away my last nVidia GPU just to not have it lying around anymore to remind me of the absolute horrors of trying to get it to work.
Like, I cannot emphasize enough, graphics drivers are my nightmare fuel, but nothing else comes close to nVidia, like what the actual fucking fuck-fuck
