@npub1sr0…qvwj That's correct – all posts in Bluesky are public (you can choose to hide them from logged-out web interface users, but they are still available to logged-in users and via the API). Blocking someone can never totally stop them from reading your posts because they could just log in to a different account to read your posts.

On the upside, I had a great time at our summer school in Brussels, getting master’s and PhD students excited about research in distributed systems.
On the downside, I caught covid, and so I may not make it to Strange Loop and the local-first unconference in St. Louis next week 😢

Hey systems folks (e.g. @npub19xz…hf76 @npub1a0k…r42u @npub1wtx…a6q9). What are your favourite papers on handling hot keys in distributed key-value stores? e.g. you can append a random number to the hot key to split its load across multiple partitions, but how do you maintain the metadata to know which keys should receive this special treatment?
