Query for video production folk!
I'm possibly in the market for a recording monitor to use with my Fujifilm X-S10 which can record to an external SSD. Primary goal is being able to record more high res footage at once as well as transfer speed rather than relying entirely on SD cards. A larger monitor on the camera is a bonus since I film solo.

Am I missing something or is there still not a good way to send large (>10gb) files easily?
Like, easily for non-techy folk. I need to send large video files to people now and again, and I want to be able to just upload and share a link.
Most object storage options have filesize limits or slow upload speeds.
Fastest option I've found is to spin up a DO droplet, scp my file to some folder, then host an http server to share a link. Cheap and fast networking.
Any better options?

Something notable about the “X/Twitter added a 5 second delay on links to websites Musk doesn’t like” story is that it’s well understood in the tech industry that every second matters for retention.
You lose about half of your would-be traffic if your link doesn’t “load” within 3 seconds.
They’re leveraging a dark pattern to reduce traffic at scale.

My news recap for today included that the LK-99 superconductor material written about in a paper on arXiv has turned out to be not real.
I also made it clear that arXiv is a pre-print server, and not a journal, and that a paper being there does not mean it is a peer reviewed, accepted thesis.
And yet people in my comments are still saying "its not disproven!" or "its been proved by other labs!" (the opposite is true) or "but theres multiple papers on arXiv about it!"

I've been considering getting one of those THICC "WD My Book" backup drives, possibly one of the models with two drives to run in RAID1. I have a synology NAS with a couple of drives in it but I use that more for sync and computer backup. I'm instead looking for something to store large files on for archival purposes.

Back home and relaxing. Flynn is back from his stay at his country club. He’s taking a quick snooze in every one of his favorite spots.
This is one of his favorites because of the head rest and the wall being opposite cooling grate so it gets nice and cold 🪭
