At some point during the war, paper was rationed. Some or all of the pulps cut back on issue size and/or frequency. WWII was one of the body blows that the pulps never fully recovered from.

Is anybody having problems with Pixelfed.social not displaying your images on your home page?
The below screenshot is from my Pixelfed page. As you can see, the first four images are displayed. The rest are not. If I click on one of the blank images, it takes me to that page, and the image displays fine there. This is supposed to be a gallery view. I would expect it to show all of the images.

Helsinki was the first stop on my Finland trip in November of 2015. It was quite pleasant. It was one of the warmest Novembers they had experienced until then.

They didn't have bear-proof garbage cans in the old days, so that was a common sight.
I don't remember the source, but a photographer said that when he was hired to shoot MM at a park, she showed up with a heavy book of some sort (again, my memory fails me. I don't remember if it was a college text or just a popular book about a weighty topic.).
It's too bad most people only remember her for her sex appeal and suicide.

Skip the underwear. The human body does an amazing job of cooling itself if it is completely unobstructed.
I don't have air conditioning. Sometimes I don't even turn the fan on (I hate the noise). I just let evaporative cooling keep me almost comfortable.
