New Release ❄️ Blizzard is a standalone version of Tor Project’s Snowflake proxy. It can be used to produce an I2P Plugin that will donate a Snowflake to Tor Browser users. The Snowflake uses I2P to manage its lifecycle. That means when you start and stop your I2P router you start and stop the Snowflake.

I2PTunnel is a tool for interfacing with and providing services on the I2P network. Simply create an I2PTunnel to the ip_address:port and a corresponding destination key is generated for the service and it will be available on the network.

With this release, we have disabled the IP-based parts of the Sybil attack detection tool which were targeted to amplify the effect and duration of the attack. This should help the network return to normal operation.

Since 2002, I2P has evolved to specify and implement a complete suite of network protocols capable of delivering a high level of privacy, security, and authentication to a variety of applications.
I2P is a fully encrypted peer-to-peer overlay network. An observer cannot see a message's contents, source, or destination. No one can see where traffic is coming from, where it is going, or what the contents are. Additionally I2P transports offer resistance to DPI and blocking by censors.

It was not built to interact with the clearnet / access sites outside of the I2P network. It has outproxy compatibility for that, but it operated by a third party.

@npub1kvm…s9cu I2P is not specifically designed to hide that a computer is running I2P. However, several design decisions made in the design of the transport layer make it difficult to identify I2P traffic:
Random port selection
Point-to-Point Encryption of all traffic
DH key exchange with no protocol bytes or other unencrypted constant fields
Simultaneous use of both TCP and UDP transports. UDP may be much harder for some Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) equipment to track
