Apple has singlehandedly screwed up the usability of personal computers. I have an M2 air which cannot power two monitors. I cannot attach usb-A devices like an external keyboard, mouse, external discs, I cannot attach an ethernet cable.
Unless, of course, I buy a very expensive hub. Cheaper hubs (like the one I have) will not support all that.
What is the use of all this bandwidth when you can't use it? Benchmarks? Fast browser-machines? What a waste of tech.

Question: What is your hardware and software of choice for reading and annotating books/PDFs ? I am looking for opensource or one-time buy options. No renting.
I'm looking for something cross-platform that will work on linux, android and macos.

It would also require enforcing more UIX on devs. I find the macos implementation of most things quite inefficient and thoughtless beyond a very shallow use case. They seem mostly for show, so gnome is lightyears ahead. I hope they will not get influenced by the likes of elementary.
Also, that's just my opinion ofc and I know most mac users do not agree.

Apple doing what it was created to do. Selling things that create an impression that they work rather than things that actually work. LLMs should fit right in.
