The thing people on Mastodon who love the block button don't get is they're killing their side of the fedi, the context here is someone wants to hide their site from the FBA scraper because it keeps busting bad admins in the act.

I also got from ewaste a 8th gen i7 box cheap as well, it's a Dell 7060 and I might use it as a backup PC or basement setup PC.

So I won at the auction site near me one of those 12th gen Intel laptops for way lower than MSRP.
I'm going to be experimenting with it, and also it's architecture is truly fascinating. While everyone is looking at Ryzen this Ryzen that, the architecture behind the newer Intel CPUs is technically fascinating. It takes the big.LITTLE mindset of newer ARM CPUs/Phones, giving it 12 cores, 16 threads, and 4 of the cores being "power" cores.
It only has a IGP setup, but honestly I've got this older Ivy Bridge laptop with a GTX 970 swapped into it if I want to run games on the go. This might be more interesting for Linux, running VMs, compiling code, etc. Unfortunately it also requires a special CPU scheduler.
