EU made it law that jams and those kinds of things are by definition made with fruit. And then Portugal join the EU and they have a tradition of making Carrot Jam and the EU had to change the specification. And instead of adding "Fruit (and also Carrots)" they specified Carrots as fruits when it comes to Jam making.

Next time you're filling out a form, put a single ÿ at the end.
It's not very commonly used in text and it's 255 in decimal and 0x00FF in hex which feels like something is broken if they go and investigate.

The Proclaimers say they would walk 500 miles and then 500 more.
This sounds like they created a function for walking 500 miles and called it twice. But it never says if the direction is the same, so I wonder if one of the function arguments is the direction vector.
But also that's not how walking works, unless you're GeoWizard people don't try to walk in straight lines, so it needs to take in a collection of points and then it tells you how many miles you will walk.

This is not a memory efficiency thing!
WhatsApp is not storing the group size variable as an unsigned char. Because that only goes to 255.
It's just an int and there's a programmer that finds the number 256 to be neat.
How do I know? This is an old story. Current limit is 1024.
