I was speaking of my company, not the general tech industry.
I know they are vulnerable. I know they can be taken advantage of.
A lower salary isn't slavery.
They are not slaves, they are some of the more advantaged people in their countries to be able to get a visa in the first place.
If we want to talk about slavery in the US, let's talk about our for profit prison system.

The don't make less money than their counterparts. In my experience, the role pays a salary and whoever fills it gets the same.
If they are slaves, words have no meaning.

It's really weird hearing people claim Musk is defending H1B1 visas because he wants slaves.
I work in tech with people on Visas and they are generally the smartest and most hard working people.
I know they are vulnerable to abuse because their status in the country is tied to their employment, but that's a far cry from slavery.
There is still real slavery today, and I don't think the US tech industry is where to find them.

I've found that making space for one thing at a time is still really important, even with so much going on.
I have email, slack, pager duty, meetings, and wikis to keep up with. I schedule time for each one, and focus on it.
This is something my management is tbig on, don't over do it, focus on what's on your plate and "finish the swing" before moving on. Otherwise you're adding tech debt that adds up and prevents anything from getting done

One thing that has fascinated me is the wall art in the Cueva de las Manos.

My complete guess is that painting a cave wall with hands is more comforting than painting faces looking out at you. While we are obsessed with faces, it's not just to see each other, it's also to pick out predators. Seeing a bunch of eyes in the dark would probably be terrifying.

Try different RAM to see for sure. You could've gotten some bad sticks. I'd try that first, then move on to deeper debugging after that.
