Yesterday, I watched God Bless Bitcoin in the living room.
My 8-year old managed to watch about 5 minutes and gave up.
My wife was in the same room, but busy, and didn't pay attention for about half the movie. Then she said: are you trying to brain wash me? She ended up on the couch, and started commented on every interviewee like:

So, it wasn't a real success...
While I enjoyed the spiritual comments, I don't think Bitcoin should be a religion. There are always gate keepers in a religion. And interpretations can lead to horrible takes, even pure evil.
At some points, it really felt Bitcoin was a cult. It's not. It's just open money for the world.
Next step, I'd like my parents to watch it. But I'm not sure this will resonate with them, for reasons mentioned above. I can't send them the link, or they'll ignore it, or simply forget. So, I'll have a watch party when they visit.

I listen to a lot of podcasts during my daily walks, always trying to keep an open mind. Usually, I hop from one to the next, getting a ton of value and new ideas.
But I've been ruminating over The Bitcoin Standard Podcast episode 230 with Arnaud Bertrand for over a month now.
This episode really rubbed me the wrong way.
It even made me watch @nprofile…mvgl 's reaction, just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind!
It's clear that Arnaud is a communist - and I'm still baffled why that ideology gets a free pass in France (unlike fascism, which is rightly condemned). He's all about central planning, essentially saying "govern me harder, daddy." He's got his rose-tinted glasses firmly on.
He raised so many red flags (pun intended) over 2 hours, without much pushback from Saifedean. It was tough to listen to.
Arnaud's bias was so strong that I almost didn't get any value from his talk.
The one decent point he made was about why people are fed up with Western politicians. He said there's a disconnect between what governments do and what people want them to do. And that's spot on.
But Saifedean's performance didn't help. He was gunning for the USA over their stance on Israel and Palestine. I get why he's passionate about it, but trying to paint China as a better alternative to the US was a bad move.
Let's be real - both governments are evil. Period.
I expected Saifedean to be more objective, but he wasn't.

I may have found a way with Start9. As it was my favorite node software, I tried again.
After flashing, I installed it selecting my internal drive.
Then, I removed the USB drive, and did the initial setup. And I selected my external drive to store data.
Looks like I got what I wanted!

I installed 3 node software today: Start9, Mynode, and Umbrel.
And none of them allow the use of an external drive for bitcoin 🤔
Actually, maybe they do with the command line, but nothing supported out of the box.
It seems when you use a PC instead of a Raspberry Pi, things get harder.
But I need to use an external drive...

Up until a few months back, I thought I was like you: spent most of my time in front of a screen for work, had played a few games, but didn't feel like a gamer anymore.
Then, my best friend told me Witcher 3 was amazing. I had bought it, but never played it, because of the reasons above. So, I gave it a try.
And man was I wrong...
The first weekend, without the wife and kid home, I played 8 hours a day. And I'm happy to progress after work. Not every day, but several times a week.
Maybe you're like me: you need to find a game you like. And you'll be a gamer again.

Having worked with copywriters for years, I think most AI submissions are better than human ones. There's less fluff, less off-topic, and it's more logical.
However, I agree that it's hard as a reader to consider AI submissions seriously.
A good content editor with AI can make wonders, though.

I finished reading the Witcher this week. I enjoyed it, but didn't really get the last book...
The story culminated in the book 7, so it's weird "getting back to normal."
I watched the series on Netflix before reading the books, because I didn't even know there were books. I thought it was from a video game...
I'd recommend not watching the series before reading the books. It spoils everything. Characters are different and the story is, too. Better to use your imagination in the first place.
Anyway, I'll get back to reading it in a while. It's not at the level of GOT, but it deserves a reread, I think.
Oh, funny story, because I watched the series, I couldn't get used to Dandelion. So, I replaced all the occurrences by Jaskier before the end of book 1... Took me a while!

Upgraded my wife's #bitcoin storage, from Blue Wallet to Trezor hardware wallet.
Enjoyed the transactions at 5 sat/vB!

This week, I switched from Spotify to Fountain to listen to podcasts.
The app works fine on Android. But I'm wondering if the audio quality is the same.
I was listening to SLP583, and I thought the audio wasn't as good as I'm used to. I even had to turn up the volume to be able to listen while walking.
