Carbon taxes will also be required. I know Norway best, and the government subsidies oil and gas exploration to give the companies incentives to explore. If we didi go all in on reneweables there will not be any need for more o&g and the carbon budget does not allow for more fossil feuls to stay within 1,5-2C

What about, starting as of now, not giving #oil #companies #tax breaks for oil and gas #exploration? That will increase the risks for oil companies and provide for a lower #risk for everyone [else]. Invested money on exploration will demand returns.
