Almost every day, I see microservices that should have definitely not been microservices. Almost every time, it's a big ball of mud with extra complexity.
You can't just split things into random smaller things, slap HTTP in between and call it architecture. In almost every case, cleaning up a monolith would have yielded better outcomes.

I've been telling cryptobros that crypto will never replace real currencies since Bitcoin was worth less than $100, more than a decade ago. I was right.
I'm telling AI-bros that LLMs will never replace developers. It's just not where the math leads us.
You can drink the hype juice, or you can start learning about it from a scientific perspective. Ask yourself:
- How do the most common models work?
- How do these models evolve?
- What are their inherent limitations?
- Etc.

I gotta say that I have no problems with people making memes about Raygun's underwhelming and nonsensical breakdancing performance. But what does bother me is that people went onto making up a ton of misinformation about her manipulating the selection process, none of which were true. The lies have been repeated so many times (on questionable websites) that plenty of people believe them.

In 1997, when we still had 56k modems, if your website took 10 seconds to load, you lost most of your users. Today, Outlook spins for 20 seconds on a 300 Mbps connection, despite being in cache, and everyone is somehow fine with this regression.
This is without counting the lengthy SSO loop that we need to repeat every morning, because "remember me" is also no longer a feature in 2023, it seems.

I used it last year when rescuing a project that derailed, in big part because of a lack of a verifiable contract between the UI and API teams.
I also like to automatically validate the schema on all requests and responses in automated acceptance tests. Then I don't have to write tests specifically for the input/output shape.
