In January 1980 I departed the U.K. for the very first time to commence a 1-year contract in the oil & gas fields of Eastern Saudi Arabia. And in March 1980 I visited Thailand (mostly Central Bangkok and its adjacent provinces) for the very first time. Since when I have added many other destination stamps to my Passport, including China, India ... and the island of Jamaica (where I worked as a Hands-On Boiler Controls Instructor at a large Bauxite extraction plant located in the centre of the island).
In April 2017 I published my second book title but very first paperback: a fast-paced Memoir set in Abu Dhabi, then Kuala Lumpur, then England's County of Sussex during 1996. It received ecstatic (5*) reviews from both male and female readers. But my Social Media marketing (Twitter Mk-1 and Pinterest) soon came under attack from Left Wing Radicals, and I ended up being "shadow-banned". Elsewhere, MailChimp refused to publish my first Newsletter without offering any explanation. By 2021 the COVID19 lockdowns had driven my Publisher out of Thailand and back to the USA; a transition that soon triggered the closure of his once thriving book sales business. Luckily, I was able to get possession of a personal copy of my own book from Amazon, in the nick of time.
About 3 years after establishing my first WordPress Blog in 2014 I began to endure intermittent censorship and/or search throttling from hostile: i.e., politically and/or racially motivated "change agencies". During 2018 more aggressive algorithms were launched to increase the levels of obsessive interference. That interference has grown in sophistication since 2023 with the introduction of A.I.
The paranoid 'sabotage' of my popular Memoir is just one of several reasons why I value / support the Nostr concept. Consequently, I view the inherent resilience of distributed Social Media as my (and your) last hope.
