Maybe we don’t need to grow that fast? There’s still so much to work out and improve. Not sure we’re ready for mass adoption yet.
Those that reject it because of bitcoin will later come back because of bitcoin.
Nostr is about freedom. So is bitcoin. Id question whether trying to forcefully separate them has value or is even possible.

Made some Greek Kolokithokeftedes (zucchini fritters) and Spanakopita (spinach pie) last night. First time.
Both delicious. Added a little bit of minced beef/pork in the spinach pie. The fitters were great with tzatziki!

Looking for an alternative to Raspberry Pi for running various tools (including a bitcoin node, maybe a lightning node, other non bitcoin stuff like home assistant etc).
I always hear @npub1az9…m8y8 complaining about RPi and it’s closed sourceness. When I first started learning about Bitcoin I set up a node (just to get up running quickly) on Umbrel on a Pi 4 and it’s been running seamlessly since.
But I’m a software engineer and can/should do better, but am new to focusing on privacy/security on a lower level. Great time to learn.
I don’t live in my home country any more and so don’t have any old computers lying around. Also have limited space, so the size of a raspberry pi is ideal. I might have multiple of these set up to separate concerns. Running in my home LAN (maybe some on wifi, some cable).
What are some recommended open source alternatives to RPi?
Orange Pi?

Yeah I went straight to 100. But obviously split it out over a few hours. In batches of 20.
I used to do loooots of push-ups and loved them, so my body probably remembers it somehow and didn’t mind it.
Of course, being unfit still caused muscles stiffness for the first 3 days.
But have a bad cold now and don’t want to waste recovery energy on pushups haha

For a long time (4 months?) I had updates disabled just so I could keep the version of Damus that could still zap notes. BUT eventually it stopped working and I was tired of having to manually select updates for all the other apps, so re-enabled auto-update. haha. Primal was still allowing zaps at the time IIRC. But yeah, nothin' now.
I must try get set up like you!

It's also harder to zap now from iOS. I don't want to zap profiles. And I don't want to setup the primal wallet thing.

Let me know what you think. I usually toast them in butter before using as well. You can probably see in my burger photo, the slight crust.
But they are prone to being quite wet/soft rather than dry/soft. The egg white glaze adds to the stickiness too.
It can probably be improved. But I still love them

We need easier on/off ramps between bitcoin and monero. Bitcoin wins as store of value, but monero is great for payment privacy.

I LOVE #coffee. Obsessed. Don't go a day without a few cups.
But I wanted to see how I'd feel if I reduced the amount I'm taking in.
So for a few weeks I won't drink coffee on Wed, Thu, Fri. Need it for Monday and Tuesday, and weekends should be enjoyed.
Today is the first day without it and it's hard. It sucks. Rooibos tea is not cutting it. But let's see how day two and three go!

Ah lovely place. Just be careful of the water apparently. My buddy went there, fell off a scooter and grazed his leg. Then he proceeded to wash out the wound under a faucet / shower after which it got infected and NEARLY amputated. It was a literal miracle the it came right despite doctors saying amputation was inevitable.

A bounty-type Q&A note kind would be cool. Say for example, you have a question you really want answered. So much so, that you put up a bounty of sats to the best answer (or best answers).
At some point (time limit? ad-hoc?) you select your favorite answer to which the sats get sent.
Not sure it'd be possible to lock up the sats to ensure someone gets paid though, without knowing the recipient in advance.

Any suggestions for a secure/encrypted text editor? Or some sort of encrypted container? (on Ubuntu)
Use-case: I want to make notes that are encrypted at rest on my computer. Ideally it would be encrypted in memory/swap etc. too but that's probably asking too much. Basically I don't want to have to decrypt/encrypt manually each time and don't want to run the risk of leaving non-encrypted versions lying around.

The only thing is that you cannot delete your data or your identity. Not that there is any guarantee about that with other mainstream services either (even with GDPR etc). But the term “owning one’s data” might give that impression.

The equation is basically Hash(x) < DIFFICULTY.
And it's solving for x. The method it uses to solve the equation just happens to be brute force guessing, but that doesn't mean it isn't solving a difficult equation. Try rewriting that equation with `x` on the left and you'll see how difficult it is.

Zero for me. Not a huge fan of liver but I can eat it. Not sure I’ve tried snails, but would.

I think it’s because software engineers are shittier than their hardware counterparts of yesterday. And many of the problems we see are to do with software or the sw/hw interfacing. Despite the significantly easier ability to test software than hardware.
Although I think hardware might be a more deterministic in terms of possible states to consider and test for whole software has states of the application as well as hardware and the effects of other concurrent applications.
But definitely your observation could be due to this migration to a thicker software layer (multiple layers, in fact)

Can we do something like derived keys? I know not much about cryptography. But would be cool if we could generate child keypairs from a master keypair. And you can somehow revoke/cancel a leaked child key by providing a new child key of the same parent/master.

I’ll stick with it and just give feedback until it’s better. I find them quite responsive to feedback and I like the product. Apart from the queue issue I don’t really have problems.
