Ein schwieriges Thema zu Fotografieren. Also:
Müll im Wald macht mich "böse"!
Aber dieser Müll, ein sehr alter Gummischlauch oder Reifen, wird langsam von Flechten (5 verschiedene Arten) überwuchert. Das macht mich dann doch wieder friedlich.

The last couple of days I heard a Green Frog calling from behind the garden fence. Unusual, because the next lake is about 600 meters away (as the crow flies), but steep terrain and roads to cross if you are a frog.
This morning I found it in the birdbath. It clearly did not want to see me 🤷‍♀️ .

I did not expect the Goldfinches to be so enthusiastic about this offering of water hanging in a tree.
It's the bottom half of an Oriole feeder that never found any interested Oriole. Now, filled with water, a flock of goldfinches comes to drink here several times a day. They prefer it to the birdbath where the other birds get their fill.

The young Ruby-throated Hummingbirds gave quite the acrobatic performance today, constantly chasing each other at high speed. I couldn't zoom because I would never have caught them.
Training for the flight south, usually by the first week of September.

I stuffed my pockets with Juniper berries to spice soups and stews this winter.

I was removing the seedheads of my Milkweed today to spread them in a suitable location instead of my neighbours' gardens and discovered a few more caterpillars of differing sizes.
Hadn't seen any in weeks.

Yes. I have an Italian Plum tree. The skins are not bitter, and not tough at all. Your fruit look like mine, but maybe you have a different variety?
Do you peel the fruit when you want to eat one fresh?

There is no need to skin them, it gives the jam the purple colour. Since the stones are still firmly attached I just cut around the fruit through the groove, twist, save the good half for cake and cut the other from the stone with a sharp little knife. To make jam I just use the immersion blender after cooking the fruit briefly.
I still have a few kg to go. Happy sigh 😀
