From the perspective of a person who likes narrative games, enjoys a challenge, but doesn't want gameplay to be a chore, would #Celeste be a good purchase?
Some of the descriptions say that it's filled with "hardcore" platforming. I like the look of it, and I love a good story, but the "hardcore" aspect gives me pause.

I'm currently exploring the possibility of using AnyType as my personal organization system, and I like the idea so far.
I especially like the fact that it's E2E encrypted and works on Linux. Very cool.

My wife and I are considering a trip this year to Barcelona with our two kids (11 and 14 at the time of the trip). First time for 3 of us to travel to Europe.
Does anyone have recommendations or thoughts? Assume we've researched most of the major tourist attractions. I'd love some local insight.
Also considering a train trip from Barcelona to Paris, and then flying back to US from Paris.

My neighbor gave me an old Nook Simple Touch that had barely been used. Unfortunately, the exterior rubber/plastic is super sticky.
Using a few different types of chemicals did not seem work. I've scraped off a lot of the sticky-ness, but the bezel will probably disintegrate if I try.
I'm considering designing and 3d-printing a rudimentary case for the internals and scrapping the original.

Hey #Gnome and #Fedora friends: my 2012 MacBook recently started to have major issues with gdm. Any time gdm is supposed to load, it either gets seriously laggy or the login box doesn't appear even though I can move the cursor around without any lag.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Are there any optimizations I can do to change this?

Except in this case the hologram system is owned by a company like Microsoft that resists making aesthetic changes because “it’s what people are used to, and what they expect when they turn their holograms on.”

#MyFirstDistro was some early version of Red Hat in the late 90's. My dad's IT guy from work installed it on a decommissioned box and gave it to me when he found out I was interested in trying Linux.
I couldn't believe how much software you got by default FOR FREE. All the games, the web browser, the word processing!!!

@npub1l3g…vu48 i looked at a band plan recently, and I thought technician was only vhf/uhf (6m included). I’ll have to double check that again. But I do remember starting to learn CW years ago because I thought there were a few spots in HF where techs were able to dabble with CW.

God’s plan never seems to be obvious until you’re looking back at it from the other side.

@npub12zl…q88u that’s understandable. I’ve had the same cheap radio for years and haven’t spent the money to upgrade. I would recommend finding the Baofeng UV-5R+ as a good starter. You can use it to listen on your local repeaters even before you get your license.
If you feel adventurous, you can explore the world or “software defined radios” (SDR). There are a lot of inexpensive SDR modules you can plug in to your computer and pair with open source software for fun listening.

@npub12zl…q88u yeah, you need to study and take a 35 question test in the US. The Technician exam isn’t too difficult with some knowledge of electronics and RF. There are a lot of great free resources online to help study the questions like hamexam.org
Radios and equipment can be expensive depending on what you want to do. Talking on a local repeater only requires a handheld radio you can get for less than $100USD
