@nprofile…t4dp I’m sad. We keep being forgotten. Disabled people were the first killed en masse in 1930s Germany, we’re the first attacked by the right (eg we’re their targets in the Christmas to New Year slow news cycle) and the least likely to be remembered.

Apart from reception staff not being masked (they were behind screens but pretty sure at least 1 or 2 weren’t masked), you’d think we were living in 2020-21. Signs, seats blocked, masks mandatory, etc. I felt safer there than I did with the specialist who WANTED ME TO REMOVE MY MASK FOR A PHOTO. As if a profile pic is necessary for medical care.

@npub1vgg…pm2j That is so pretty. I’d never heard of the Day of the Dead until Babylon 5 had an episode based on something similar. My limited understanding of the tradition leaves me in awe. So wholesome in contrast with our western tradition of “you’ve had 3 days of bereavement leave now never mention your lost loved one again”.

Sophie Gonzales, an Australian author to whom I’d given good publicity and her agent attacked me and incited an international pile on as part of the lead up to auctioning her books to the US. For at least some of those tweets they used their real accounts. Likewise when I criticised the Expanse for their “blind cameraman”, the authors used their own accounts to incite a pile on.

@npub1grx…uxfe I’m horrified and I’m not in America. My best hope is he won’t get enough votes to get across the line. I don’t think any of them do because the ‘Freedom Caucus” is only about destruction and I think/hope a lot of Republicans won’t vote for them and they won’t vote for anyone Trump won’t support. And Trump won’t run for speaker after his last 2 humiliating votes of 1 vote per round for speaker.

@npub12ze…hunm to be honest, I’m vision impaired, struggle to play computer games these days so don’t shoot me (lol) but to me fps are all pretty much the same. When interviewing, I looked for comedy, quirky, that kind of thing
But PAX has interesting people to fit your interests. For sure.

@npub1l0s…pgrv This is a controversial opinion but I think we need culture change. During the early years of the pandemic hardly anyone flew anywhere. Carbon emissions fell. Now every other person in my FB feed is either overseas, going overseas or has been overseas at least once in the last year. If those people were conscious of their danger (covid & climate change eg Greece fires, floods) and understood trips kill their kids’ futures, there’d be less flying.

My son, aged ~8, said he didn’t like reading. Challenge accepted. I persevered until I found books he loved eg Artemis Fowl. When I interviewed Eoin Colfer years later, book son asked to be signed was VERY VERY loved.

1. timelines
2. Trump has said he wants to win the presidential election to pardon himself.
3. Won’t help in Georgia bcos there he has to serve his time then be of good behaviour for 5 years THEN apply for a pardon. Not sure he understands that because it’s too complex and he’s “very intelligent, the MOST intelligent”.

@npub1094…2wum @PleaseCaption@botsin.space funny thing: I’m vision impaired. I usually don’t add a description for two reasons. Firstly and most often, I forget. However, on my website I add descriptions for images when I’m preparing a post and I struggle. I really struggle. To identify what is in an image, what are the key features, and what is the focus. I think my struggles with that are the reason I have a mental block with doing it elsewhere. It’s just too hard.
