I've been on both sides of that equation so I want to add that just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Also, just because something is new doesn't necessarily make it better or appropriate. A healthy respect for continuity is important, even when things need to change.

Good. Thank you. I didn't come here to denigrate composting, only to share with a fellow environmentally conscious person that earthworms, where they are not native are not valuable and actually very destructive of native habitat and there are other methods of composting available in those regions.

Please bear in mind earthworms are a destructive invasive species in North America. They disrupt the nutrient cycle in our temperate forests, endangering native insects and fish habitats. If you use them here, please be aware of this, take steps to prevent their spread and educate people on this critical issue. I don't want to be a "reply guy", but for North America this is an important clarification.
