A new engine has been merged!
yuv422 was working for a while on an engine for Darkseed.
So far, the engine takes 10,883 lines of code, which brings it to a lower end. However, all the game logic is hardcoded, so the development is not an easy feat.

The release cycle for ScummVM 2.8.1 is about to start any time soon!
The new release will be focused on fixing bugs that were discovered in 2.8.0 and previous versions.
We don't have a full schedule yet, but if you want to hold your breath for it, we recommend to do a bit of training before - it is more than 10 minutes.

@npub1eqd…4xp6 the AGS engine has seen some general improvements which also affects these games.
They were playable before, but now we are confident enough to have announced official support for them.

M4 engine lands ScummVM master.
This engine is used by two games, Orion Burger and Riddle of Master Lu. So far, only Orion Burger is completable. It is our second attempt to bring the engine, the first one started in 2008, and in 2011, we removed the engine because it hit a dead end in its development.
The engine has all of its logic hard-coded, e.g., every aspect, every actor, and every object has relevant code in C++. This is why it took so much effort from DreamMaster. And the resulting engine is almost 75k lines of code, supporting only one game so far.

The bot is using GitHub Webhooks and a modified version of MastodonBotPHP [1] that parses the JSON output sent by the webhook and crafts the toots.

Our engine for Broken Sword 1 just got a nice accuracy boost!
Starting with the next nightly builds, you might notice several improvements to the main menu:
Accurate text positioning
Save and Restore "stone bars" now move when scrolling the list
Implement the "Speed" section and setting
During the tombstone screen (the death menu), the correct font is now used
A nice "Disk full!" message in case saving fails
Furthermore, if you hit the "Restart" button, you'll see the intro video - just like in the original game!
