@npub16ur…mx4u probably configuring a compose key would be enough to access German chars with this us like keyboard. Here my Sway config line that use Right-Alt `input * xkb_options compose:ralt`. I hope there is an unused key on the pinephone keyboard.
Then, typing R-Alt o e give a œ.

@npub1sg4…xslc okay found that WAYLAND_DEBUG cost a lot. Without it, I relate the results you had at 60hz, and I get 5~6% at 120hz which is expected :meowthumbsup:

@npub1sg4…xslc hare-ev is probably related because both events, at high-frequency cause a high cpu usage. I have to both reduce the timer interval, and request window frame lazily (on square move), to significantly reduce cost.

@npub1sg4…xslc I've tried to add a `needredraw: bool` to not redraw every similar frame, but this isn't enough. It continues to burn 12% of my cpu resources. I guess it is related to the de-sync between the square move, and the frame ticks that is triggered by the compositor, but then, how can we keep control over the life-cycle to reduce cost?
This is a genuine question that is related to this frame life-cycle design, and not to hari specifically

@npub1ysu…2jyl You mean re-implementing xkb? It knows about keymap, and variants, and all that stuff. It can manage a keyboard state, knowing which keysym trigger with those or those modifiers.
