@nprofile…dhdt I hope they go back to doing app image. Honestly, I wish more companies would just go with app image and then turn on the update flag.
Until flatpak fixes their little wall garden problem, I just cannot use it for anything but bottles. It does not work with keeppass XC browser integration without completely destroying the flat pack and that’s way too much effort for me. It’s why I switched to Nix.

@nprofile…p3jt I don’t think it’s possible without a lot of work and approval of the other developers but maybe they should just change the license to like source code available.
and obviously state on every other package format, other than flat pack or whatever it is, they want to support that this is not the official version of the application. Use it at your own risk. ⚠️ that should get people to move over. I mean, bottles is the only flat pack I have and use.

@nprofile…dhdt it’s not terrible. It’s just the experience could be improved for 40 to 50 bucks down the road with a SSD with at least a little catch just for those reads and rights depending on what you do, of course if you’re just doing simple things as it doesn’t matter too much.

My greatest annoyance with mastodon is, I set it to the languages I can actually read and understand in the filters. And still 98% of the posts that I am presented with are a language I cannot read.
it honestly burns me out.

@nprofile…vzdp I honestly wish more things were app images just because they’re easier to deal with. Flatpaks if I absolutely have to like bottles. And snaps well I would rather not have them exist at all.
At the end of the day, I prefer nix packaging and the arch repos.

@nprofile…854g I just have to ask why Ubuntu. It will never have the latest support so your intentionally shooting yourself in the foot. I’m not trying to say which distro better but just on where they get actual updates of todays pkgs would be a more realistic test,
also, being on a modern kernel

Can we have a talk about battery powered headphones.
Honestly they’re the biggest regression in technology we have ever had. Effectively they are all e-waste from the moment they’re created.
For the ones you cannot plug-in(3.5mm) more so but at the end of the day the battery will eventually leak. Hopefully.. not directly into your ear.
Though I blame the user for buying effectively waste at the end of the day.
